Optic-Net acceptable use policy

 

The Optic-Net staff endeavors to make your Internet Service be as reliable as possible. With this in mind the Optic-Net requires each of its users to comply with the Optic-Net acceptable use policy. This policy includes, and are not limited to the following. Optic-Net users agree to the following:

  • To maintain anti-virus software on all personal computers used to connect to the Optic-Net. Failure to do so may cause the suspension of your Optic-Net account until the problem can be eliminated or repaired.

  • Operating a web server, gaming server or any other type of server with out the prior written approval from the Optic-Net is grounds for the suspension of your Optic-Net account.

  • Not to intentionally cause harm to any Optic-Net equipment. Violations will cause suspension of service for your Optic-Net account and may be prosecuted by applicable laws.

  • Optic-Net users will not participate in the sending of unsolicited messages.(i.e. e-mail) This is called spamming. This type of activities will lead to the suspension of you Optic-Net account.

  • The Optic-Net also suggests that it customers, account holders add and run the various anti-spyware utilities to help with computer related slowdowns. Please see the Computer Safety page for more information.

  • That the Internet is not filtered by the Optic-Net. Many web sites contain inappropriate, harmful or obscene material. People using the Optic-Net services agree not to hold the Optic-Net responsible for such material or the transmission of such material. The Optic-Net suggests the addition of blocking or parental control software for the Optic-Net users computers.

  • The customer shall indemnify and hold Optic-Net harmless from any and all claims, actions damages, liabilities including attorney's fees, resulting from the use of equipment. service, connectivity or installation.


   The Optic-Net and or it's parent company Franklin Information Systems Inc. reserves the right to change or update policies without prior notice, as well as reserve the right to refuse service, limit service or terminate service without warning to any Optic-Net account holder we believe to be abusing the network or Optic-Net equipment. The Optic-Net reserves the right to change terms, conditions and rates of service. An effort will be attempted to contact the Optic-Net account holder prior to suspension of service.
